NIU’s Institute for the Study of the Environment, Sustainability & Energy will host a talk about corporate sustainability at 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, in the Holmes Student Center Sky Room.
Dave Haft, retired senior vice president for Productivity, Sustainability and Quality at Frito-Lay, Inc., will present key elements of the environmental sustainability program at the $13 billion snack food division of PepsiCo.
This long-term, award-winning endeavor has proven that what is good for the environment is also good for the bottom line.
Haft will cover programs that have dramatically reduced the amount of water, natural gas, electricity, diesel fuel, packaging and landfill used in manufacturing and distribution while significantly improving profit.
