Employees in the former Division of Finance and Facilities might notice some minor disruptions in computer services Monday, Nov. 11, and Tuesday, Nov. 12, as Information Technology Services makes some behind-the-scenes changes to how Users, Groups, Printer Agents and Login Scripts are handled.
The changes are being made to align the computing infrastructure with the new organizational structure of Finance and Facilities, which was recently split into two divisions, the Division of Finance and the Division of Administration. No academic units will be affected by these changes.
Due to the speed of the changeover, no exact time table for the changes is available. ITS will contact affected LAN administrators to ensure the smoothest possible transition.
Employees in the affected divisions who experience difficulties with their computers Monday or Tuesday should find most difficulties resolved by simply re-booting their machines. If problems persist, contact the ITS Helpdesk at helpdesk@niu.edu or at (815) 753-8100.
