Campus Recreation will host is fourth annual Homecoming 5K run at 7:45 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12.
Alumni, students, faculty, staff and community members are invited to participate in the “Run For A Better U.”
The race course begins and ends at the Student Recreation Center, where lockers and restrooms will be available. The course will pass Huskie Stadium, the NIU Convocation Center and tour the new Outdoor Recreation Sports Complex.
Participants can register online or at the Student Recreation Center kiosk for $25 until 11:59 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10. Pre-registered racers are guaranteed to receive a Dri-FIT race T-shirt (size not guaranteed) and an awesome race goodie bag. Race day registration will also be available for $30. Race day registrants will receive T-shirts and goodie bags while supplies last.
Race awards are determined by electronic bib for both men and women. Awards are given to first, second and third place overall male and female finishers and to first, second and third place male and female finishers for each age division. Campus Recreation’s photographer and Ted Gates from TG Photography will take pictures of the race.

Running not your thing? Campus Recreation is also looking for race volunteers to help with encouragement, food distribution and traffic flow along the course. Volunteers need to register with by Friday, Oct. 4.
