NIU’s Doctorate of Physical Therapy Program will host an NIU DPT “Nerd 5K” at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5.
The race takes place near the Northern View Community. All proceeds go to KishHealth System’s cancer treatment centers and the NIU DPT Program.
Race day events include a DJ, a massage tent, prizes for fastest times in each group (beginner and children, intermediate, amateur, experienced) and a nerd costume competition.
Check-in begins at 8 a.m. in the community room of the Northern View Community.
Registration is $30 for individuals, $25 for Chicago Area Runners Association members and $20 for children younger than 13. Registration includes a goodie bag and a T-shirt.
