Members of the Academic Convocation volunteer coordination committee are looking for volunteers for this year’s Academic Convocation and Band Run, scheduled for Friday, Aug. 23.
Several volunteer opportunities are available from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. that day. The convocation itself begins at 11 a.m.
Volunteer opportunities are currently being solidified and are subject to change. Some include helping prepare for the event, ushering in students for the ceremony, monitoring exits, helping students safely and efficiently leave the arena at the conclusion of the convocation and assisting with cleanup and tear-down after the event.
Those who volunteer to help with the Band Run will help organize students to follow the NIU Marching Band to the Convocation Center before the ceremony.
