Miss the bus to Miami? Can’t afford to drive alone or pay for the airfare?
Fret not!
Students (and staff) who were unable to secure seats on the Sunshine State-bound buses for NIU’s historical New Year’s Day appearance in the Discover Orange Bowl can easily form carpools.
NIU’s Off-Campus & Non-Traditional Student Services, which helps commuting students save on gas, tolls and vehicle maintenance costs, is offering its assistance to create carpools bound for Florida. Groups can split costs and take turns at the wheel!
Carpool Connections is a secure database that matches Huskie football fans through anonymous emails generated within the system. Users are notified by email when matches are made, but personal information is not shared until permission is granted.
Only NIU students and staff can sign up for the carpools to Miami.
It’s always a good idea to meet fellow travelers in advance to make face-to-face acquaintance and to trade contact information to supply to parents, spouses and other family members.
