Part of theĀ Vision 2020 Initiative is a new emphasis on growing and improving the University Honors Program.

Those efforts are already starting to pay off: In May of 2012 a record 172 honors students graduated.

And, strengthened by a set of new recruitment efforts, strategic planning initiatives and funding, 226 freshmen and 104 transfer students were admitted into the program, the most since 1987.

The academic profile of these students is especially exciting. Among the freshmen:

  • the average ACT score is 29.
  • the average high school class rank is top 12.5 percent.
  • the average high school GPA is 3.94.
