The NIU website debuted a new all-university calendar today, providing a one-stop shop to promote and discover campus events.
“The calendar features a simple-to-use interface that makes it really easy for departments and organizations to promote their events,” said Jennice O’Brien, director of Web Communications. “It just takes a minute to log in and add an event.”
Events can be browsed by day, category, department or location, as well as searched. Each event features a photo, venue map and the ability to leave comments and reviews.
“Students can log in with Facebook and see what events their friends are attending,” O’Brien said. “The calendar is social, so the campus community can share, tweet and check in. It will be a great tool for increasing awareness of student activities and participation in campus events.”
The calendar can be found at https://calendar.niu.edu and is integrated into the events tab on the NIU Homepage, as well as on NIU Today. Calendar content can be featured on the website of any department or organization; contact Web Communications for assistance.
