NIU’s Annuitants Association is planning a Saturday, Nov. 17, trip to the Chicago Fine Chocolate Show.
The Chicago Fine Chocolate Show, a unique fine chocolate and culinary event open to the general, chocolate-loving public, features fine artisanal chocolate creations from around the world.
Held at Navy Pier, the event showcases world-class chocolatiers while presenting the versatility of chocolate as an exceptional ingredient among a variety of cuisines and culinary techniques. More than 125 vendors will offer samples for visitors to taste and enjoy as well as specialty items for purchase.
Featured events include:
- Live pastry demonstrations by the world-famous French Pastry School.
- Fun and interesting seminars created by the Fine Chocolate Industry Association.
- A pairings pavilion highlighting fine chocolate alongside crafted beer, wine and spirits.
- “The Story of Chocolate,” presented by the National Confectioners Association, where visitors will learn the six steps of the creation of chocolate.
- Free samples!
The bus leaves the Barsema Alumni and Visitors Center parking lot at 9:09 a.m. for a 10:30 a.m. arrival at Navy Pier. The return bus leaves Chicago at 3 p.m.
Cost is $59 per person for members and $69 per person for non-members. Cost includes round-trip deluxe motor coach from DeKalb, ticket (with five free samples), all taxes and gratuities. Reservations confirmed by payment.
