DeKalb High School Marching Band plans night of jambalaya, jazz to support Sugar Bowl jaunt

Logo of the Allstate Sugar BowlThe DeKalb High School Marching Band is going to the 2013 Allstate Sugar Bowl, played Wednesday, Jan. 2, in New Orleans.

During the trip, the young musicians will play four times, compete and perform during the halftime festivities.

A “Cajun Kick-Off” to raise funds for the trip is scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at the high school, 501 W. Dresser Road. The night’s events include music by the DHS Jazz Band, jambalaya (with meat donated by Inboden’s Meat Market) and an auction.

Tickets are $10 and are available at the high school.
