The Huskie women will be featured Sunday, Feb. 3, when they host Miami while the men will be shown Saturday, Feb. 16, at Western Michigan.
A total of 40 games will be produced and distributed by SportsTime Ohio (STO), the league’s regional cable flagship partner. In addition, there will be at least 13 other men’s basketball games that are scheduled to be televised on ESPN platforms (ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU and ESPN3). The regional productions produced by STO will also have the potential to air on ESPN Full Court.
Selected games will also be available in the MAC footprint via Comcast Michigan (channel 900), Comcast Indiana (channel 81) and Comcast SportsNet Chicago. Check your local listings for game times and local availability. Games will also be available via STO in the Buffalo market on DirecTV (channel 662) and Dish Network (channel 431) as Buffalo is part of STO’s normal distribution footprint.
In addition to the scheduled television dates, the NIU men will have the chance to appear in any of additional 11 wild card and conference tournament dates in the MAC’s SportsTime Ohio and ESPN packages. The Huskie women could also feature in up to four additional wild card and conference tournament slots.
Along with its appearances in the MAC television package, the Northern Illinois men’s team will make two additional television appearances this season. As previously announced, the Huskies will be on ESPN Tuesday, Nov. 12, as part of ESPN’s College Hoops Tip-Off Marathon in a 7 a.m. CT contest at Valparaiso. NIU will also appear on the new Pac-12 Network Saturday, Dec. 22, at Washington.
The NIU women’s basketball team will open the 2012-13 campaign Friday, Nov. 9, in the Preseason WNIT at Iowa. The Huskie men’s team will begin the 2012-13 regular season that same night at Nebraska-Omaha.
