NIU’s Student Involvement & Leadership Development invites all area community agencies and not-for-profit organizations to recruit students for volunteer opportunities during the annual Volunteer Fair.
The event is scheduled from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, in the Stevenson Towers Dining Area.
Participants are given a table and are encouraged to showcase their organization’s services and needs as well as to provide students with information and the ability to sign up for follow-up.
“The Volunteer Fair is a great way for students to become connected with local organizations whose mission and goals match with (theirs),” says Destiny McDonald, acting assistant director for Community Service and coordinator of the event. “This is a great opportunity for organizations to recruit enthusiastic volunteers for the various programs and events that they sponsor, and for students to be able to give back to the NIU community.”
Organizations can register for the fair by completing the form and submitting it via mail, email or fax. The $10 fee includes on-campus parking, a table and chairs. Registration will be accepted until Friday, Sept. 14.
