Fair to offer resources for community activists, pastors, church leaders, student organizations

Photo of blue stick figures surrounding a globeCommunity activists, pastors, lay church leaders and student organizations in search of ways “to fulfill their mandate of coming into real ministry through providing services and programs to the global community” can supplement their toolkits Tuesday, July 24, at NIU.

Chicago-based New Global Destiny Int’l World Vision Ministries, Inc. will sponsor a faith-based resource fair from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Regency Room of the Holmes Student Center.

The event is free and open to the public. Light snacks will be served.

Topics include:

  • Applying for government grants
  • Starting a not-for-profit business
  • Writing clear and concise mission statements
  • Drafting effective business plans
  • Fundraising
  • Hosting a Community and Economic Development Association program
  • Opening a food pantry
  • Launching a GED program
  • Conducting a clothing drive
