Almost one year has passed since the university unveiled its new logo and tagline, “Learning Today, Leading Tomorrow,” to convey a unified and consistent visual identity for Northern Illinois University.
The new logo debuted Aug. 15, 2011, on the NIU homepage, and has been almost completely implemented across all web pages using the NIU templates in Cascade Server. If your web page has not yet been updated with the new logo and university template in Cascade Server, contact Jennice O’Brien, director of Web Communications, for immediate assistance.
As was announced during the logo rollout during Summer 2011, the university will require all units to use the new logo exclusively beginning Aug. 15, 2012. NIU Document Services will print only the new logo on all new jobs, including re-orders of previous print jobs.
Stationery can be ordered through the online storefront. Call (815) 753-1692 or email [email protected] for more information.
A thorough Graphic Standards for Institutional Brand Identity manual that contains rules for colors, fonts, spacing and sizing, use with the “Learning Today, Leading Tomorrow” tagline and sub-branding is available online.
Please make every effort to ensure that your division/college/departmental web pages, print products (brochures, newsletters, stationery, business cards), posters, online newsletters, etc. all utilize the new university logo by Aug. 15, 2012.
Feedback related to the new logo has been encouraging and very positive from every university stakeholder group.
University Relations staff, with assistance from the University Communications Council, continue to build out our institutional identity and will be providing (by Aug. 15, 2012) the university community with additional color palettes, fonts, powerpoint templates, newsletter templates, photography, etc., to provide divisions/colleges/departments with more options that convey a singular institutional identity while allowing for customization and personalization.
