Northern Illinois University lends art to campus offices through the NASCAR Program: NIU Art museum Summer Collection Art Rental.
Since 2005, the NIU Art Museum has made selected pieces from the museum collection available for rental to secure campus offices at the university. During an exhibition of available artwork, interested NIU departments can “bid” on their favorites. A drawing held on the last day of the exhibition will determine which pieces will be allotted to the requesting departments.
This year’s exhibition will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, June 18, through Thursday, June 28. The lottery drawing will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 28.

There are nominal fees for this service to cover part of the NIU Art Museum’s incurred costs and for the direct care and maintenance of the collection, including matting and framing to make new selections available.
