Supporters of NIU women’s golf can give to the Huskies and say goodbye to its longtime head coach as the team hosts a weekend of festivities.
The weekend begins on Saturday, May 19, with a retirement dinner at Kishwaukee Country Club for NIU head coach Pam Tyska, who is retiring after 26 years of service to Northern Illinois. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. with a cocktail hour featuring a cash bar, appetizers, soft drinks, coffee, tea and a raffle. Dinner will follow at 6:30 p.m. and will cost $40.
The NIU women’s golf program will hold its annual Spring Fling fundraiser Sunday, May 20, at the country club.
The $100 entry fee includes 18 holes of golf, cart fees, use of the practice facilities and a box lunch. Registration begins at noon with a shotgun start set for 1:30 p.m. There will be a reception open to the public at 5:30 p.m., featuring appetizers and a cash bar; soft drinks, coffee and tea are provided.
