Open forums for students to meet dean hopefuls moved to Wirtz 316 to encourage attendance

CHHS logoThe location of the open students forums featuring three of the four finalists for the deanship of NIU’s College of Health and Human Sciences has changed.

Candidates Thomas Birk, Derryl Block and Linda Samson will take student questions in Wirtz 316. Hopeful Diana Biordi, senior associate dean for community partnerships and research in nursing at the University of Akron College of Nursing, visited campus last week.

Interviews for Linda Samson, professor of nursing and health administration at Governors State University, are scheduled from Monday, April 16, through Wednesday, April 18.

Her open forum for students from 5:10 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 17. She will meet with faculty staff and from 10:05 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 18, in the HSC Capitol Room.

Derryl Block, chair of the professional program in nursing at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, will visit from Wednesday, April 18, through Friday, April 20.

She will hold an open forum for faculty and staff from 2:15 to 3:15 p.m. Thursday, April 19, in the HSC Heritage Room. She will meet with students from 5:10 to 6 p.m. that day.

Interviews for Thomas Birk, associate professor in the Department of Health Care Services at Wayne State University, are scheduled from Monday, April 23, through Wednesday, April 25.

Birk will hold an open forum for students from 5:10 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 24. He will meet with faculty and staff from 10:05 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, in the HSC Capitol Room.
