Test planned for audio emergency alert system

March 12, 2012

Photo of a woman listening with hand cupped around her left earAn audio test of the emergency alert system on campus is scheduled from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 16, in four buildings:

  • Davis Hall
  • Faraday Hall
  • La Tourette Hall
  • Gabel Hall

The test will be a human voice at normal decibel levels simply indicating that the test is only a “test” (and not an emergency). There should not be any loud sirens.

Note: The speakers are one-way units and not two-way communication devices. They are used exclusively for campus emergency situations and not intended for public announcements.
