Workshop will help women mulling law school

Demystifying the Female Super LawyerThe NIU College of Law Office of Admissions & Financial Aid will host “Demystifying the Female Super Lawyer: Perspectives On Balancing A Career, A Family, and Life.”

The event takes place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, in Room 315 of Altgeld Hall.

This program, which is also co-sponsored by the NIU Women’s Law Caucus, is designed to provide insight and guidance for prospective female attorneys. The program consists of panel sessions on law student life, networking and balancing life with a legal career.

Current NIU Law students and alumnae will lend their experiences and answer questions from attendees.

Also included is a luncheon with keynote speaker Stacey L. Smiricky. Smiricky, a 2002 alumnae, is a partner with the Chicago office of the international law firm Faegre Baker Daniels.

The program will conclude with brief remarks from NIU Law Dean Jennifer Rosato.

All are welcome to attend, but particular focus is paid to the concerns and interests of those women already admitted to law school or those currently involved in the application process.
