Board members of the University Women’s Club of NIU, as part of their philanthropy program, have given $1,000 to the NIU women’s track and field program and Head Coach Connie Teaberry.

These funds will be used to purchase additional pairs of running shoes for the outdoor season.

Standard equipment issue for the women participating in the program includes only one pair of shoes, and this gift will assist in the purchase of more appropriate running shoes for the upcoming spring outdoor events.

The University Women’s Club has given similar monetary gifts to other NIU women’s sports programs in the past for the purchase of team uniforms or equipment.

The UWC also presents academic scholarships to female NIU students each year to assist them in meeting the financial needs for their education.
