YMCA Spooky Sports Halloween Party coming Friday to Convo Center with Victor E., athletes

The YMCA Spooky Sports Halloween Party, presented by Kishwaukee Community Hospital, the NIU Convocation Center, NIU Intercollegiate Athletics and B95-FM, will scare up some good fun from 4 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, at the Convocation Center.

Admission is $1 per person. Children ages 2 and younger are free. Advance tickets are available at the YMCA during normal business hours or at the doors of the Convocation Center on the night of the party.

Trick-or-treaters will have the opportunity to play games and get autographs from their favorite NIU athletes.

Victor E. Huskie, members of the men’s and women’s basketball teams, gymnasts, wrestlers and NIU cheerleaders will be on hand to interact with children, paint faces and sign autographs.

Participants will also enjoy dozens of games, walk through the Spooky Sports Haunted House and show their bravery in a game of Fear Factor. Arts and crafts will be available for younger party-goers. Popular magician James Grainger will return to win over the audience with impressive illusions and tricks.

New to the Spooky Sports Halloween party is the Spooky Fun Bounce Room. The Victor E. Court will be transformed into a bounce room with several different bounce house adventures.

The YMCA Spooky Sports Halloween Party is safe and indoors. Children younger than 13 should attend with a parent.
