October 25, 2011

Photo of cell phone on chargerThe NIU College of Law’s Environmental Law Society and Amnesty International chapter are sponsoring a used cell phone drive in observance of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Any student who has an unwanted cell phone, charger or battery can donate it to the club/s for recycling.

All phones that are collected will be donated to the Crisis Center for South Suburbia, a non-profit community organization that provides emergency shelter and other essential services for individuals and families victimized by domestic violence in Chicago’s south suburbs.

Drop-off locations for the cell phones will be located in the Marshall Gallery in Swen Parson Hall and the Students’ Legal Assistance office (Room 120 of the Campus Life Building) until the end of the fall semester. All cell phones and phone accessories will be accepted.
