NIU Wind Ensemble will present local premiere of ‘Concerto in Eb,’ arranged by Thomas Bough

The NIU Wind Ensemble will present the local premiere of J.B.G. Neruda’s “Concerto in Eb,” arranged for band by Huskie Marching Band Director Thomas Bough.

The concert, featuring faculty trumpet soloist Mark Ponzo, begins at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, in the Boutell Memorial Concert Hall of the NIU Music Building.

The concert is free and open to the public, and the auditorium is accessible to all. It also is scheduled for webcast.

Other selections will include Grainger’s “Irish Tune from County Derry,” Maslanka’s “Morning Star,” Holst’s “Moorside March” and Jan Van der Roost’s “Flashing Winds.”
