NIU’s career fairs offer students, job-seekers chance to network, impress potential employers

Internship FairIt’s never too soon to prepare for life after college.

Students looking to get head starts on their career searches will have the chance to speak with potential employers during career fairs sponsored by NIU Career Services.

Students seeking internship opportunities can speak with representatives from 73 varying companies at the NIU Internship Fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18. Admission is free for current students and $10 for non-NIU students.

There are currently 147 registered employers prepared to meet with NIU seniors and alumni at the Full-Time Job Fair, scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19. Admission is free for students, $5 for NIU alumni and $10 for non-NIU students.

Both events are located at the NIU Convocation Center.

Attendees are encouraged to be prepared by researching the companies, rehearsing elevator speeches, dressing professionally and bringing plenty of résumés. Current students also will submit copies of their résumés as admission into the events.
