The Northern Illinois men’s basketball team will hold an open practice prior to Saturday’s football game against Western Michigan.
First-year head coach Mark Montgomery’s Huskies will take the floor in Victor E. Court at the NIU Convocation Center at 10 a.m., and practice is scheduled to conclude around 12:30 p.m.
“Saturday’s practice is a great opportunity for the community, students and alumni to come and watch us practice as we start a new era of Huskie basketball,” Montgomery said. “We look forward to being a part of an exciting Homecoming weekend here at NIU.”
Montgomery welcomes back five returnees from last season’s roster, led by senior forward Tim Toler and redshirt sophomore guard Antone Christian; the Huskies also have eight freshmen in the fold for the 2011-12 season.
Fans are asked to enter the Convocation Center through entrances 1, 2 and 5. Convocation Center parking lots and doors will open at 9 a.m., regular NIU football game day parking rates apply. Admission to the men’s basketball practice is free.
