Seems like just yesterday that National Public Radio’s Carl Kasell was in town to help launch WNIJ, the news-talk station of Northern Public Radio.

Twenty years later, WNIJ is stronger than ever, thanks to its loyal listeners and supporters.

Join WNIJ in welcoming Kasell, the retired NPR newscaster and official “Wait, Wait … Don’t Tell Me” judge, back to DeKalb for a special “20th Anniversary” reception.

The party takes place Friday, Nov. 4, at NIU’s Barsema Alumni and Visitors Center, 231 N. Annie Glidden Road. A social hour begins at 7 p.m. with a 8 p.m. presentation planned.

Tickets are $30 per person or $50 for a couple.

Each reservation includes a seat for the presentation, light hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar.

Order by credit card or call (815) 753-9000 during business hours from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

All proceeds benefit Northern Public Radio. Call (815) 753-9000 for more information.
