The Northern Illinois University Women’s Club is sponsoring a fundraising luncheon to raise money for NIU women’s scholarships.
Catered by Sweet Dreams, the luncheon will take place at noon Saturday, Oct. 22, on the lower level of the American National Bank, on the corner of Sycamore Road and Bethany Road.
In addition to the meal, there will be a program by Barbara Samulowitz. Her presentation tells how quilts made by abolitionist women served as maps for the Underground Railroad during the pre-Civil War era.
Community members are invited.
Reservations must be made in advance. If planning to attend, mail a check for $15 per person attending, made out to University Women’s Club. The check, along with the names of those attending, should be mailed to Dorothy Razniewski, 218 Alfred Drive, Sycamore, IL, 60178. Reservation checks must be received by Saturday, Oct. 15.
Profits will go exclusively toward scholarships for women at NIU.
