First ‘New to You’ swap meet scheduled Sept. 28

Focus groups were held last spring to gauge interest of both residential and off-campus students in an ongoing swap program.

Students from both groups were excited about the idea and, in response to this interest, a new initiative called “New to You” is being piloted this year.

The program will feature monthly swap meets both on and off campus. The first swap meet will be held from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, in the Neptune Central southeast meeting room near the Fireplace Lounge.

If you have usable items that you no longer want or need, bring them to the “New to You” swap meet. Items can be dropped off as early as 8 a.m. that day.

The following items cannot be accepted:

  • damaged/broken items
  • perishable items
  • furniture
  • pillows
  • stuffed animals
  • undergarments
  • hazardous materials
  • weapons of any kind

If you have no items to bring, that’s OK. Bring yourself – and a friend. You will be greeted at the entrance and asked your name and Z-ID. You will receive a reusable cloth bag that’s yours to keep. Use it to carry any items you take from the swap meet this time, and in the future.

Watch for future dates, including off-campus locations.
