Representatives of every major and minor on campus will be present, said Steve Barleen, assistant director of NIU’s Academic Advising Center.

“This is the place where students can see the academic opportunities NIU has to offer,” Barleen said. “The fair is for students who are not sure what they want to study or for students who have selected a major and want to meet the faculty in the department.”

More than 700 students attended the fair last year. Many of them were freshmen who were impressed with the number of choices offered to them, he said. All had a first-time chance to learn more about the departments and meet instructors who teach the courses.

A number of support services, such as NIU’s Career Services, Study Abroad and tutoring opportunities, will be at the fair as well.
