Northern Illinois University will hold its inaugural University Support Expo for educators from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, in the Duke Ellington Ballroom of the Holmes Student Center.
NIU faculty members, teaching assistants, administrators and support staff are invited to browse among more than 40 university support units available to them, said Brenda Hodges, program coordinator for NIU’s Faculty Development and Instruction Design Center.
“The expo will introduce faculty members to a host of resources available to them,” Hodges said. “It will show faculty and staff where they can go for questions concerning teaching, professional development and research related issues.”
Some of the support units that will provide information at the expo include the Office of Sponsored Projects, the Office of Student Academic Success, Library Services, the Latino Resource Center, University Press, Military Student Services and Study Abroad.
“This is a great opportunity for the hundreds of members of our teaching staff to become acquainted or reacquainted with the services available to them,” Hodges said.
The expo is sponsored by the Office of the Provost, the Faculty Development and Instructional Design Center and Employee Relations.
