Northern Illinois University lends art to campus offices through the NASCAR Program: NIU Art museum Summer Collection Art Rental.
Since 2005, the NIU Art Museum has made selected pieces from the museum collection available for rental to secure campus offices at the university. During an exhibition of available artwork, interested NIU departments can “bid” on their favorites. A drawing held on the last day of the exhibition will determine which pieces will be allotted to the requesting departments.
This year’s exhibition will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, through Thursday July 7, and from Monday, July 11, through Thursday, July 14. The lottery drawing will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, July 14.
A detailed policy form can be reviewed and downloaded online.
Peter Olson, the museum’s assistant director who in charge of the program, encourages visitors to allot enough time during their visits to enjoy the current Hall Case Gallery exhibition: “Dirt and Glitter: Graphic Design” by Vaughan Oliver and v23.
