Join NIU’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences External Programming for a Wednesday, June 8, trip to the Navy Pier Chicago Shakespeare Theater.
Travelers will enjoy a 1 p.m. performance of “The Madness of King George III.” Immediately after the show, audience members will be treated to a half-hour “talk back” with the cast and can ask questions about the performance they just experienced.
A limited amount of tickets are available.
Masterfully written by Alan Bennett, the Laurence Olivier- and Tony Award-winning playwright of “The History Boys,” “The Madness of George III” skillfully concentrates one of the most politically charged periods of Great Britain’s history into a surprisingly heartfelt human story about loss — of mind, body and power.
Lise Mae Schlosser, doctoral student in English and Women’s Studies at NIU, will be leading the trip.
NIU’s group will depart from the Normal Road entrance of the Holmes Student Center at 9 a.m. Wednesday, June 8, and return at approximately 6 p.m. The $75 fee includes theater ticket and transportation. Lunch is on your own.
