Spend the day on the water and canoe the south branch of the Kishwaukee River. This is a good section for any level paddler with impressive views of fields, forests and spring wildflowers. Canoers will take a break to enjoy a picnic lunch at a park along the river.

Registration deadline is Wednesday, May 4. The cost is $30.

Horseback Riding at Starved Rock State Park
Saturday, May 7, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Riding horses is a perfect way to break away from studying for a few hours and get out into nature. Just more than an hour way, Starved Rock Stables will provide instructions, a guide and a two-hour riding experience.

Registration deadline is Wednesday, May 4. The cost is $50.
