Environmental Law Society sponsors April drive to collect used cell phones for Crisis Center

April 4, 2011

Photo of hand holding cell phoneThe Environmental Law Society of NIU’s College of Law is sponsoring a used cell phone drive.

Students who have old cell phones and would like to discard them can donate them to the club with no questions asked.

All phones that are collected and in working condition will be donated to The Crisis Center for South Suburbia, a non-profit community organization that provides emergency shelter and other essential services for individuals and families victimized by domestic violence in Chicago’s South Suburbs.

A drop-off location for the cell phones will be located in the Thurgood Marshall Gallery, on the second floor of Swen Parson Hall, throughout the month of April.

Donations of batteries not inside phones, and other phone accessories, will not be donated but recycled.
