Orientation sessions for students interested in the Students in Service AmeriCorps Awards have been rescheduled to noon Wednesday, Feb. 9 and noon Thursday, Feb. 10.
Both sessions will be held in the Academic Advising Center, Room 113. The originally scheduled sessions were canceled because of snowy weather.
The Illinois Campus Compact has allocated 10 additional Students in Service AmeriCorps Awards to NIU so that more students can get involved in serving the community.
This means that NIU will send 10 additional undergraduate and graduate students into the community to volunteer in places such as food pantries, soup kitchens and preschool classes. Upon completing their 300 hours of service, students will receive the satisfaction of helping people as well as $1,132 educational awards.
