Recreation Services provides two active options for celebrating Valentine’s Day weekend

Photo of an ice skateRecreation Services is planning two trips for Valentine’s Day weekend that put physical activity over roses, dinner and a movie.

An ice skating trip is planned from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 13, to Millennium Park in Chicago.

Traveling by train into the city, travelers can enjoy skating at the McCormick Tribune Ice Rink. The energy and excitement of downtown Chicago does not end in the winter, and the trip is a perfect chance for pictures and fun. 

The $20 registration includes transportation to and from the Elburn train station, skate rental and lunch. An additional fee for the train ticket ($7 round trip) is not included. Registration deadline is Thursday, Feb. 10.

Indoor climbing at Vertical Endeavors will take place from 5:30 to 10 p.m. Monday, Feb. 14.

Work your way to the top! Climbing is a problem solver’s workout with lots of options to build strength, endurance, agility and balance. Beginner to advanced climbers welcome.

The $25 registration fee includes transportation, instruction, equipment rental and admission. Registration deadline is Thursday, Feb. 10.

Register at the Outing Centre from 3 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday.
