Warm up: Free soup, bread sticks await visitors to Office of Student Academic Success series

Photo of a bowl of soupIt’s cold outside! Come warm up with a free cup of hot soup and warm bread sticks while learning more about how to be successful at NIU.

NIU’s Office of Student Academic Success is launching Soup & Success, a series of workshops that are student-centered and encourage student success initiatives. Each is based on a topic critical being a successful NIU student. 

Soup is provided to make this a comfortable environment for students to relax and engage with the speakers.

“It’s About Time (Management)!” is the first in the series and will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1. Students will hear from the Counseling and Student Development Center about the importance of time management and how to effectively manage time.

Upcoming workshops include “Finding Campus Resources” (Tuesday, Feb. 8), “Reading Strategies” (Thursday, Feb. 17), “Public Speaking 101” (Tuesday, Feb. 22) and “Test Anxiety No More” (Thursday, March 3). All of the events take place in Diversions, located on the ground floor of the  Holmes Student Center.
