The tip-off time of Sunday’s women’s basketball game between Northern Illinois and Miami (Ohio) has been moved up to noon, NIU Associate Vice President/Director of Athletics Jeff Compher announced Thursday.
The game time change will allow fans to catch both the Huskies’ Mid-American Conference showdown with the RedHawks and the National Football League’s NFC Championship game between the Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers, which is set for a 2 p.m. kick-off.
A one-hour postgame basketball clinic still will be held for children eighth-grade and younger on the Convocation Center arena floor after the NIU-Miami (Ohio) game. Children who plan on attending should wear athletic clothing and gym shoes.
The game is also still “Kids Take Over the Convo,” where young athletics enthusiasts will take their turn at making P.A. announcements, writing postgame recaps, spinning tunes on the arena sound system and more.
The Huskies are 7-11 on the year after Wednesday’s 73-62 defeat of Ball State at the Convocation Center Wednesday night. Miami (Ohio), which ended NIU’s season last year in the MAC Tournament, enters Sunday’s showdown with a 10-8 mark.
