Join President and Mrs. Peters to kick off the holiday season at the annual Altgeld Holiday Family Celebration, scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10.
After dinnertime, return to historic Altgeld Hall to enjoy festive bedtime snacks and stories that celebrate the magic of the holiday.
Listen as professional, award-winning storyteller Linda Gorham and “suprise guest” storytellers engage the children in winter tales. Make a craft project to take home. Sit for free holiday family portraits. Learn about NIU’s literacy education program.
Also featured this year is a book swap and sale. Bring a book to donate and take a new selection home with you. Book sale proceeds will benefit local children’s charity organizations.
The campus community is asked to donate used books for inclusion in the swap and sale. Donations will be accepted through Thursday, Dec. 9, at these locations:
- Intercollegiate Athletics Office at the Convocation Center.
