It might take years to become a martial arts master, but it takes only 90 minutes to learn how to combat personal violence.
NIU students, faculty and staff are invited to Founders Memorial Library at 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 15, for a women-focused self-defense seminar.
Lesley Rigg, associate professor of geography and a black belt in karate, will teach self-defense skills. Participants will learn how to control their environment to prevent dangerous situations and how to react, mentally and physically, if attacked.
This event is free. For more information, contact Wayne Finley at firstname.lastname@example.org or (815) 753-0991.
