Reilly Farrell of DeKalb will be one of 54 performers Saturday, Nov. 20, at the Barnes & Noble book fair and recital.

Shoppers at the Barnes & Noble store in DeKalb will be treated to a wonderful medley of music presented by the NIU Community School of the Arts from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20.

The recital is part of the book fair program sponsored by the store, located at 2439 Sycamore Road. The money raised will support the scholarship programs of the community school.

More than 50 musicians currently enrolled in lessons with the community school will perform solos and in small ensembles on Saturday afternoon. Teachers in the program will also perform.

Vouchers will be available ahead of time and on the day to be used when making a purchase in the store. A percentage of the proceeds collected will be returned by Barnes & Noble to the community school for scholarships.

Since the program was started in 1993, more than 600 students who might otherwise have not been able to afford the cost of lessons have received awards.

The NIU Community School of the Arts offers music lessons and music, art and theater classes to people of all ages in the area. Call (815) 753-1450 for more information.
