Huskie fans who donate a bag of non-perishable foods will receive an opportunity to purchase a discounted ticket to one of four NIU athletic events throughout the week of Nov. 9 to Nov. 12.

NIU student-athletes will supply 400 grocery bags to DeKalb and Sycamore residents for donation of non-perishable food items. Huskie fans can bring in the bag, with the attached flier, to receive a discounted ticket to the following NIU athletic events:

  • Football – NIU vs. Toledo at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9 (Reserved tickets for $7)
  • Women’s Basketball – NIU vs. UW Parkside at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10 (Upper Bowl ticket for $1)

Huskie fans who wish to participate in the Food For Families Drive, but do not receive a grocery bag prior to the event, can bring in their own bag of non-perishable food items with SAAC’s Food For Families flier to receive a discounted ticket.

Those who would like to partake in the Food For Families Drive, but are unable to attend an NIU athletic event, will still have the opportunity to donate food items for the DeKalb Salvation Army in support of SAAC. Participants can leave their donated bag of food items by their front doors Monday, Nov. 15, and Huskie student-athletes will return to the homes of the DeKalb and Sycamore residents to pick up the bag between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
