Annual CROP Walk to step off Sunday, Oct. 17

Help CROP Stop Hunger logoThe DeKalb County Sondra King Memorial CROP Hunger Walk is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 17.

Registration begins at 2 p.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 830 N. Annie Glidden Road in DeKalb. A step-off ceremony begins at 2:30 p.m. alkers can choose between a 4-mile path and a “1 Golden Mile” option.

Twenty-five percent of funds raised will be returned to DeKalb County agencies, including food pantries, Meals on Wheels, Hope Haven and Safe Passage. Seventy-five percent of the funds will be used by Church World Services (CWS) for disaster relief and self-help development projects throughout the world.

CROP — Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty — funds allowed CWS to be ready when disaster hit Haiti in January and Pakistan in July.
