But the questions are these: How do you build a sense of team? Does teamwork come naturally? What happens to the concept of team in tough times? It’s easy to be a team when you’re “winning,” but what happens when times are tough?

NIU’s Civic Leadership Academy is offering a Tuesday, Oct. 26, workshop titled “Teamwork and Team Building: Trying Times Also Demand Teamwork.” Greg Kuhn, assistant director and senior research associate at NIU’s Center for Governmental Studies, is the presenter.

This session will explore the nature of teams, the importance and value of teamwork, the pitfalls of trying times and the cost to the organization of “going it alone.” The session will include participative exercises and short case studies.

Workshops are held at the NIU Naperville campus from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Continental breakfast, buffet lunch and afternoon snack are included in the registration fee. Registration is available online.
