Love the outdoors and seeing new places? What could be better than taking a trip with Outdoor Adventures this Spring Break! Outdoor Adventures is traveling down to Georgia to spend the week volunteering in the Chattahoochee National Forest.
NIU’s Outdoor Adventures will offer a ski-snowboard trip the weekend of Friday, Feb. 4, through Sunday, Feb. 6, to Devil’s Head Ski Resort. The trip departs at 4 p.m. Friday and returns by 4 p.m. Sunday.
Salem Lutheran Church
Salem Lutheran Church in Sycamore will host a blood drive from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 12, in honor of the five NIU students who died Feb. 14, 2008. The church is located at 1145 DeKalb Ave., across from Culver’s.
Six talented young musicians will perform at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, during the annual Honors Recital. They are the recipients of talent scholarships awarded by the NIU Community School of the Arts after a rigorous audition held in early January.

Chicago mezzo-soprano Julia Bentley will join members of the Avalon String Quartet as they continue their 2010-11 season at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, in the NIU Music Building’s Boutell Memorial Concert Hall.
