Feeling crafty? Join the Giving Project

August 13, 2017

The Giving Project, a crocheting and knitting group, made up of students and staff, will resume their biweekly meetings starting next week.

The Giving Project creates many beautiful and useful items for students in need over the academic year. Items such as plastic reusable tote bags, winter scarves, baby blankets, wash cloths and others will be crocheted and knit by the group and given to the Huskie Food Pantry to give to students. The Operating Staff Council’s Public Relations and Activities Committee is the sponsor of this worthy venture.

If you’re a crafter — or want to learn — join the Giving Project members in the Glidden Room (lower level of the Holmes Student Center behind the OneCard Office) from noon – 1 p.m. The group will meet on the following Thursdays: Aug. 17, Aug. 31, Sept. 14, Sept. 28, Oct. 12, Oct. 26, Nov. 9, Nov. 30, and Dec. 14. If you have extra acrylic yarn or crochet hooks you’d like to donate, please bring to a session. The students are very appreciative, and we thank you for your support!
