Affirmative Action and Equity Compliance will host an interactive workshop on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) for employees on Wednesday, July 12, in Altgeld Hall, room 125, from 1-3 p.m.
The workshop will cover what is and is not a disability, how the ADA provides protections for differently-abled individuals and what the protected categories are.
Additionally, workshop facilitator Susan Swegle, assistant director for Training and Outreach, will discuss how employees should approach their supervisor when they need an accommodation, as well as what the responsibilities are in engaging with the ADA coordinator and their supervisor concerning their needs.
