The annual Kishwaukee United Way Day of Caring will be on Monday, June 22, with a kick-off rally and volunteer check-in at 8:15 a.m. The Day of Caring is an organized day of volunteer service in the community – much like NIU Cares Day. Each year, approximately 200 community volunteers complete projects at 30 nonprofit work sites in our community. The community is requesting that NIU students, faculty and staff consider volunteering to continue assisting our neighbors.
Local agencies submit requests for volunteer help on a variety of projects ranging from reading to children, delivering meals to the elderly, repairing and painting houses, planting gardens and working in agency offices. For more information, visit the Kishwaukee United Way website or call 815-756-7522.
