The NIU School of Nursing will host a “boot camp” for aspiring advanced practice nurses (APNs). The event is offered by the Illinois Society of Advanced Practice Nursing (ISAPN). This one-day program is designed to provide graduating APN students with practical information to help them get started in their practice. Participants receive information usually not covered in academic programs, giving them a leg up upon graduation.
The ISAPN Boot Camp will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, April 28, in the Regency Room at Holmes Student Center. It is open to any APN student, including those from other schools in the northern Illinois region. The program is $100 for NIU students, $145 for ISAPN members and $195 for non-members. Lunch is included. Registration is open.
