WNIJ News hosts a weekly discussion of issues with community leaders

wnijWNIJ News is very proud to announce the launch of a new local news initiative called Friday Forum. Friday Forum is dedicated to showcasing multiple perspectives on critical local, regional and state issues.

Beginning this Friday, January 13, WNIJ News reporters will interview members of Congress, Illinois legislators, county officials and municipal officeholders, as well as community leaders and influencers, who will discuss important issues facing the listening area. Staci Hoste, Director and General Manager of the station, looks forward to the weekly segment.

“We work every day to deliver high-quality, independent news that matters to our audiences. Our most recent listener survey indicated a desire to hear more local, regional and state news,” Hoste said. “I’m proud to be able to offer listeners in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin a new series of reports to meet that need. I thank our listeners, donors and underwriters who support these ongoing efforts.”

Friday Forum can be heard every Friday from 5 to 9 a.m. during the station’s broadcast of Morning Edition. This week, Representatives Cheri Bustos and Adam Kinzinger talk about what to expect from the 115th Congress.
